Step into the neon-lit backstreets of Melbourne, 1984, where crime, chaos, and camcorders collide. Throbbin ’84 follows Detective Inspectors Davidson and Reynolds, a mismatched duo tasked with bringing down a gang of unruly punks terrorising the city. Their target: a crew of leather-clad misfits stealing video equipment and turning the streets into their playground.

Out of their depth in the punk underworld, the inspectors enlist the unlikely help of Bulldozer—an ex-Top Dog prisoner turned halfway house operator for women. But as the investigation unfolds, the trio discover the true mastermind: Billy, a modern-day Fagin with a silver tongue and a taste for illegal VHS productions.

Packed with camp energy, pulpy action, and a wink to the audience, Throbbin ’84 is a short-form series that celebrates the grit, sleaze, and spirit of the 80s—where the cops play it straight, the punks play it loud, and the city itself is always throbbin’.
